Calibra cuenta con dos terminales: «IN» que define el esqueleto dental. «OUT» que permite comprobar el espesor y la forma de la última capa sin excesos.
De hecho, este instrumento es el primer calibre que se haya producido para comprobar el espesor (una práctica alternativa al índice sagital de silicona) y la primera herramienta de modelado que se haya producido para la última capa.

CÓMO FUNCIONA CALIBRA IN
Si usa un sistema de dentina/esmalte, puede usar Calibra de la siguiente manera. (Si usa solo una matiz, consulte la descripción de Calibra OUT):
Una vez realizada la técnica de la caja (modelado de la pared palatina, el borde incisal y las paredes interproximales), coloque la dentina seleccionada dentro de la caja.
Coloque el Calibra IN deslizando el extremo puntiagudo dentro del borde incisal, mientras que el extremo del instrumento deberá apoyarse en la parte sana del diente. Empezando desde el centro del diente (o de la restauración), mueva el Calibra IN primero hacia el mesial y, luego, desde el centro hacia el distal. A continuación, quite el exceso de composite con herramientas o cepillos.
Siguiendo cuidadosamente este procedimiento, habrá dado la curvatura anatómica adecuada desde el margen de preparación hasta el margen incisal, habrá dejado el espacio necesario para la última capa de esmalte y habrá reservado una ranura incisal útil para colocar cualquier matiz de efecto translúcido.

CÓMO FUNCIONA CALIBRA OUT
Para la función de comprobación de los espesores (cuánto espacio queda para la capa superficial): Coloque el instrumento en el margen incisal (con el tope correspondiente) y el terminal más allá del margen de preparación. Para la función de modelado: Deslice la herramienta en el margen incisal (con el tope correspondiente) presionando ligeramente el terminal más allá del margen de preparación.
Empiece desde el centro del diente/restauración moviendo el Calibra OUT primero hacia el mesial y, luego, desde el medio hacia el distal. A continuación, quite el exceso de composite. Siguiendo cuidadosamente este procedimiento, habrá evitado el exceso de contorno de composite en el margen de preparación y, al aplicar la última capa de esmalte, tendrá anatómicamente conectado el margen de preparación con el margen incisal.

"One of the major benefits of using hand instruments when treating patients with perio pathology is the fact, that these instruments are easily adapted to any surface of the root, do not overheat the surface of a tooth during SRP and of course they do not create aerosol during your work. The last feature is exceptionally important during COVID-19 pandemic. Instruments are continuously upgrading which is a result of a tight coordination between HF and practitioners. One of my favorites are BioGent Curettes.
This is a modification of Gracey curettes which were developed by Drs. Antonella Labriola and Dr. Pierpaolo Cortellini. These instruments provide a smooth and careful workflow in patients with a thin periodontal biotype which prevents the risk of gingival recession. The working part of BioGent curette is thinner and shorter than a regular one’s, what provides working in a deeper pocket with an increased safety. Modified curves of the terminal part of curette let the instrument adapt to the root surface even better, even when the anatomy is very complex. Instruments are made with EverEdge 2.0 technology which means that they are the sharpest instruments in the world!
