El procesamiento del instrumental es una parte clave de cualquier programa de control de infecciones en en las prácticas dentales y debe realizarse adecuadamente para garantizar la seguridad de los pacientes.

Aplicar un protocolo de prevención de infecciones y de procesamiento de instrumental acorde con las directrices nacionales y europeas puede ayudar a que su clínica ofrezca a su personal y a sus pacientes un entorno más seguro y cómodo.
Mejore la integridad del instrumental mediante el uso de un sistema de gestión de instrumental de HuFriedyGroup. La solución IMS permite al personal trasladar los instrumentos de la zona de limpieza al sillón mediante casetes y sin manipular los instrumentos.

Zona de procesamiento del instrumental
La clínica dental debe disponer de una zona diseñada para el procesamiento, la cual debe estar físicamente, o al menos espacialmente, dividida en zonas para:

1. RECEPCIÓN, LIMPIEZA Y DESCONTAMINACIÓN
Una esterilización efectiva comienza con una limpieza y desinfección a fondo para eliminar restos y contaminantes. Es crucial usar guantes resistentes a perforaciones y equipo de protección personal (EPP) adecuado. Utilice equipos de limpieza automatizados para mayor eficiencia y seguridad. Incluso los instrumentos que parecen limpios pueden necesitar verificación; considere usar Monitores de Limpieza para asegurar la eficacia del proceso de limpieza en lavadoras-desinfectadoras y limpiadores ultrasónicos.

2. PREPARACIÓN Y ENVASADO
Asegúrese de que los instrumentos estén completamente secos antes de envasarlos. Después de la limpieza, inspeccione los instrumentos críticos y semicríticos en busca de residuos. Lubrique los instrumentos articulados como alicates y tijeras. 3. STERILISATION
Follow manufacturer instructions for mechanical and chemical monitors to ensure sterilization effectiveness. Monitor each load with indicators, placing a chemical indicator inside each instrument package. If not visible externally, add another on the outside. Position packages loosely in the sterilizer for proper sterilant penetration. Perform a daily Bowie-Dick Test Pack to detect residual air. Conduct weekly biological monitoring (spore testing) to ensure microorganism destruction in steam sterilization

4. ALMACENAMIENTO
Almacene los artículos estériles en armarios cubiertos o cerrados. Nunca almacene artículos estériles sobre un esterilizador.
